Pink Floyd is my favourite rock and roll band but I like so many it's relative. My favourite album by them is Animals released in 1977. Very progressive at the time and a reflection of tough times in the UK economically and socially. This album, in my opinion is largely about social structure - and is loosely based on George Orwell's book, Animal Farm.
I see the "Pigs" as the oligarchy, politicians and the elite in our society. "Dogs" are the business people, corporate czars etc. and they too oppress us, then there's us the "Sheep" who sit idly biding our time in the grasslands away - taking it without opposition, from the dogs and pigs.
